Azadirachta indica is generally known as Neem, a nimtree or the Indian lilac. A member of the mahogany family Meliaceae, this is one of two species in the genus Azadirachta. The fruits and seeds are the sources of neem oil, a preparation used in Ayurveda and Ayurvedic medicine.

Indigenous to the Indian subcontinent of India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives it’s native to tropical and semi-tropical areas.
