Self-care is an act of personal health maintenance. It is an action of an individual, family or community, to improve or restore health, or for treating or preventing illness.
Self-care incorporates all health decisions people make for themselves and their families to become and stay physically and mentally fit. These acts can be as simple as eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and exercising to maintain physical fitness and good mental health.
Having a skin care routine, dental care & hair care are other self-care acts. Mindfulness, meditation, and getting a good nights sleep all fall under the self-care umbrella.
